Ailing Pup Too Sick To Move Patiently Waits in Rain For Someone To Help Her

When Millie the dog became too sick to move, she patiently waited in the rain until someone could tend to her. Poor Millie laid down on some grass on the side of the road, and took cover underneath a tree limb as refuge from the pouring rain.

India based rescue organization Animal Aid Unlimited got a tip about Millie’s plight, and immediately rushed over to help her. By the time they go there, Millie was barely conscious, and was just too sick to move or do anything for that matter.

Rescuers covered Millie in a blanket and immediately whisked her away to safety, so they could start getting her healthy again. When Millie arrived to the shelter, doctors suspected that she had pyometra, an infection of the uterus, and needed surgery right away or she wasn’t going to make it.

When the surgery was underway, doctors realized that Millie’s infection was more serious then they thought. In fact, things were so severe that her uterus inflamed twice the size it should normally be. Thankfully, they were able to remove the infection. The next day, Millie was already feeling better and was able to walk, stand on her own, and even sit up and eat. It took several weeks for the infection to fully leave her body, thanks in part to anti-biotic’s, and a lot of tender loving care.

Today, Millie is completely healed, and is doing so much better than expected.

Millie certainly had her guardian angels out there looking out for her. Had help not arrived within just hours, she would have more than likely died from her infection. Thanks to Animal Aid Unlimited, Millie is alive and well, and she couldn’t be more grateful for her second lease on life. Have a look at her harrowing rescue below:
