Manhunt Underway For Owner Who Threw Small Puppy Out of Moving Car

The Florence Police Department are actively and desperately searching for a motorist who threw a small puppy out of his moving car as both were traveling on a busy throughway. According to local news station WHNT News 19, the puppy is in rough shape but is expected to survive and make a full recovery.

The puppy, who was discovered on the side of the road concealed in a bag, suffered a fractured skull, and a severely damaged right eye. She was rushed to the Florence Animal Hospital where she was treated for injuries. Unfortunately, doctors could not save her bulging right eye and had to remove it to reduce her pain, and chances for severe infection.

The dog is presently being fostered by a vet tech who works at the hospital until she fully recovers. Once she is well enough, she will be placed up for adoption. Witnesses describe the suspect as a black man, driving a white late model Nissan Ultima with a red undercarriage, throw a bag out of his window on 2700 block of Cole Avenue approximately after 7 p.m. Witnesses then approached the bag after they found it moving, and this is when the discovered the dog, who was renamed Milagros, Spanish for “miracle” struggling to breath.
