When rescue organizations Vals Pals GSD and Large Paw Rescue got a tip about a young German shepherd pup discovered in the woods clinging to life, they rushed to the scene to investigate. What they discovered shocked them to their core.
Their before them was a shepherd pup they later renamed Frannie eating the leaves and shrubbery, struggling to stay alive. Things were pretty glib indeed because for one, Frannie only weighed a paltry 23 pounds. The team from Vals Pals GSD and Large Paw Rescue rushed Frannie to the vet, where her recovery would soon begin.
Frannie was eventually put on a medication regimen that would get rid of the heartworms, and severe case of mange she was suffering from. In December of 2015, the month Frannie was rescued, she began the long and winding road to recovery. Almost a year later, not only did this precious pup survive, she is now thriving.
