Life at the high kill OC Animal Care Facility in California is as hard as you could imagine. For a dog, they must do all they can to convince patrons to the shelter that they would make excellent home companions, as they try and stand out from the crowd, quite literally, as the shelter grapples with overcrowding. One dog in particular who knows all about the politics of the OC Animal Care Facility is a 12-year-old Chow Chow, who is in pretty bad shape.

The dog, who was brought into the facility on September 19, has a list of treatable medical ailments, that could restore him to health, even at his ripe age. His former owner more than likely neglected and declined him any medical care over the years and it has caught up to him. The dog, who is too weak to stand

The dog, who is too weak to stand is also fighting the battle of high moral. According to an anonymous source at the shelter, he is losing hope as he has to watch younger, much more energetic dogs get adopted before him.

According to an animal advocacy group, Lionels Legacy, they are actively looking for fosters to take in the pup. They took to their Facebook page and wrote the following message saying

“Many people have contacted us to help him but our hands are tied unless we have a COMMITTED FOSTER to help us help him! When we say committed we mean through thick and thin & for life if needed because a committed family is something this poor soul clearly hasn’t had! It says he’s 12 but I think that’s a very generous number since they’ve said he has limited mobility and needs to see a vet ASAP.”

If you or someone you know is interested in giving this pup the second chance he deserves, please contact the OC Animal Care Facility at (714)-935-6848 and reference the shelter ID #A1482652. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding this precious  pup the forever home he rightfully deserves. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
